How Often Should You Replace Airbnb Linens and Towels

Guests want to feel confident that their bed and bathroom have been freshly prepared for their arrival. Because Airbnb linens are used and washed much more frequently than those in a typical home, they can wear out faster.

Frequent washing, stains, heat, and everyday use can cause sheets and towels to become thin, rough, faded, or less absorbent.

There isn’t a universal replacement schedule for every Airbnb. The lifespan of your sheets depends on the quality of the fabric, how often your property is booked, and how the linens are washed and cared for.

As a general guideline, frequently used Airbnb sheets may need to be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Higher-quality sheets that remain in excellent condition may last longer.

Rather than relying only on a specific timeframe, inspect your sheets regularly. Look for permanent stains, thinning material, pilling, fading, frayed edges, or stretched elastic.

If the sheets no longer look or feel fresh and comfortable, replacing them can make an immediate difference in the guest experience.

Pay attention to how they feel and perform. Towels that have become rough, thin, faded, stained, or less absorbent are good candidates for replacement.

Pool and beach towels may wear out even faster because they are frequently exposed to sunscreen, chlorine, saltwater, sand, and outdoor conditions.

Sheets and towels aren’t the only items that need attention. Regularly inspect pillows, mattress protectors, pillow protectors, blankets, and comforters.

Replace anything that is stained, damaged, flattened, or no longer comfortable.

Linen replacement is a normal operating expense for any vacation rental. Set aside money for replacements and gradually rotate older items instead of waiting until everything needs to be replaced at once.
